Antioxidants

Antioxidants are mainly found in fruits and vegetables. They help prevent the aging process, oxidation (damage of cells and tissues), help the immune system and may help decrease heart disease and cancer. Here is a list of antioxidants and where they can be found:

Carotenoids--Parsley, oranges, spinach, broccoli, cantaloupes, apricots and pumpkin.

Lycopene--Tomatoes, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, ketchup, watermelon.

Vitamin C--Broccoli, citrus fruit, tomato, melon, peppers, greens, potato, kiwi.

Vitamin E--Wheat germ, vegetable oils, green leafy vegetables, nuts.

Ubiquionones--Fish oils, nuts, fish, meats.

Bioflavonoids--Citrus fruits, soybeans and root vegetables.
