Did you know that your metabolism is primed to quickly convert incoming nutrients into energy early in the day?

According to Michael Smolensky, Ph.D., coauthor of The Body Clock Guide to Better Health (Owl Books, 2001) you want to have your most calorie dense foods before 3 p.m. So if you are going to have a creamy treat, eat it earlier in the day and then opt to have a lighter post-dinner dessert such as fresh fruit to keep the calories lower in the evening.

Research at the University of Minnesota suggest women can lose one pound per week just by eating their most calorie dense foods earlier in the day-- that will increase the odds that it will be burned rather than stored as fat!
